Tales For Friends
The story is on the screen. The choices are in your hands.
One hour. One room. Everyone decides.
How it works
- 01
Open it on the big screen
No app, no install. Load Tales For Friends on a TV, a laptop, or a projector, and pick a tale.
- 02
Everyone joins from their phone
Scan the code on screen or type it in. Your phone becomes your character's private controller.
- 03
Decide together. Live through the story.
The story asks; you answer — sometimes as a group, sometimes alone. The tale unfolds in real time, and the choices you make shape the ending.
New expirience, new rules
It isn't a quiz and it isn't a choose-your-own-adventure book on a television.
- You don't all know the same things
- Some of what the story reveals reaches exactly for the person who needs to know it.Your skills define your path, and your path defines the story
- Your character, your options
- The choices you're offered belong to the hero you're playing
- An hour, and a real ending
- Every tale is written to finish in one sitting. No save file, no season two. You get an ending, and it's the one you earned.
- Written by a person
- Every line is authored by a human writer working in a real script. Nothing here is improvised by a machine on the night.

For writers
Tales For Friends runs on ink, inkle's open-source narrative language. What we add is: several readers at once, each holding a different piece of the truth. If you write branching fiction and that shape interests you, we'd like to hear from you.
